Our
Native American and Southwestern Jewelry is made with the finest
quality Sterling Silver and semi-precious stones. Traditionally
these have been: Turquoise,
Coral,
Lapis, Malachite,
and Onyx, which are deeply embedded in culture and tradition.
Recently, much of the jewelry is also being made with Gaspeite,
and Opal,
which are more contemporary and in great demand.
The primary tribe that has had the greatest influence in this
craft is the Navajo. They are very skilled silversmiths and their
work with sterling silver & stones in their natural or polished
state is unsurpassed. The other two tribes that have had a considerable
influence in this craft are the Zuni's and Hopi's. The Zuni's
do intricate inlaying of stones on sterling silver, and they have
taken their craft to a much higher level. Their work is well worth
the price and very much in demand. The Hopi's generally deal with
designs etched in sterling silver itself, and their expertise
in it is exemplary. Their work is very much in demand and gets
top dollar.
A
wise Chief once said," Buying quality is like buying oats....if
you want nice clean oats, you must pay a fair price....however
if you can be satisfied with oats that have already been through
the horse...that comes a little cheaper". Please note: We do not
carry any oats that have been through the horse. All our jewelry
is of the highest quality. Our commitment to our customers has
always been to provide the best quality handcrafted Native American
and Southwestern jewelry.
